OHASHI History


There are various stories about the birth of OHASHI.
Many books say that "OHASHI" came to japan from China over 2000 years ago.

When OHASHI came to Japan, the man in the street was not able to use them.
It was believed that they were a gift from Heaven, so only the emperor was able to use them.

The United States and the Europe are having a meal with a knife and a fork.
South Korea eats a dish with metal OHASHI and use them for boiled rice, soup, etc.
In Thailand or Vietnam, OHASHI, spoons, and knise are used with food.
Japan uses "OHASHI" for all foods,such as soup,rice,boiled,baked and fried dishes.
Only Japan has such a wide use.
