- Place 2 heaped cups of rice into a bowl.
- Fill the bowl with water.
- Wash the rice.
- Throw out the cloudy water.
- Repeat as necessary until water becomes clear.
- Drain the rice with a colander.
- Pour rice and water (2 and 2/5 cup) into a pan and let it soak in water for approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Place a lid on the pan and boil it over a high heat.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer.
- Simmer at low heat until water disappears.
- Turn off hotplate or heat source.
- Let rice sit for ten minutes.
