I came across this Shinto shrine one day when I was strolling in Ueno Park.
The first general of the Edo Shogunate called Ieyasu Tokugawa is enshrined there. It is a gorgeous shrine and the main shrine uses plenty of gold.
It brings back memories of “Edo” (Tokyo) before such calamites as war or earth quakes.
You can also enjoy flowers in each season, for example, cherry trees in spring, autumnal leaves in falling and peony in winter.
This shrine stands out more than the others. I was couldn’t see the main building this time because, unfortunately, it was under repair. However, it still has a nice atmosphere.
Check it out!
